Communicable diseases continue to threaten entire populations, especially in low and middle-income countries (LMICs), with older and immunocompromised people often left most vulnerable. Further, with the rise of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), older people are impacted first and worst. What strategies do we have to better protect older people from infectious disease and ensure health equity across age groups, including through adult vaccination strategies, development of new antibiotics, and tackling climate change’s impact on global health?
